ACCOUNTANCY SERVICES
Help Yourself to Lower Accountancy and Audit Fees
We believe in finding ways to help our clients reduce the costs of the accounts
preparation. Although this potentially reduces the level of our fee
income in future years, experience has shown that it increases client loyalty
and makes the client more inclined to seek our advice on other matters (because
they know they are paying a fair price for the accounts).
Recommendations we may make which could help reduce the fees for the
accounts may include reconciliations to be undertaken by you or your staff to
ensure the accuracy and completeness of the accounting records on a regular
basis, presenting information in a way which is more help to ourselves at the
year end and perhaps using the services of a bookkeeper if this is not already
being done.
In addition, with more and more people now using computers to maintain their
records, whether that is accounting software or simply using spreadsheets, there
is the potential to be able to utilise the data prepared on your computer as the
start point for our own system to produce the accounts, etc., without the need
to re-key all the data. However, this does require proper planning to ensure
that the data is in the correct format and presented in an appropriate way in
order for this to be utilised by our own system. We are able to provide advice
on this if required.
Our accounts work is planned to take account of your company's specific
requirements, circumstances and procedures. Under the Companies Act,
your accounts are required to show a true and fair view of the state of the
company’s affairs as at the balance sheet date and
of the profit and loss for the period ended on that date. Consequently, our accounts
work is geared to ensuring that we undertake sufficient work to enable us
to enable us to prepare accounts for you which meet that requirement. This ensures that our work is concentrated on
those areas which are most likely to affect whether the accounts show a true and
fair view. The benefit to the client of this approach is that you only pay for
the work which we specifically consider necessary in your circumstances in order
to prepare the accounts.
As a result of the above, we believe that our charges are competitive. If you
would like to discuss your accounting requirements, we offer a free
initial consultation, following which we will provide a written estimate of our
charges if required.

Our charges for tax planning work take into account the tax savings involved, so
that there should always be a significant net saving to the client of such an

the Revenue are targeting businesses in the construction industry regarding the
use of subcontractors. We are advising a number of companies about this to help
them minimise the risk to significant liabilities.
